Why Coconut Shell is the gold standard of granular carbon.

Coconut shell activated carbon is produced by carbonising premium coconut shells and steam-activating the resulting char under precisely controlled kiln conditions. The result is a granular carbon with a dense micropore network, exceptional hardness, and some of the lowest ash content of any activated carbon type.

The dominance of micropores pores smaller than 2 nm makes coconut shell GAC ideal for capturing small molecules: chlorine, trihalomethanes, dissolved organics, taste and odour compounds, and gold complexes in mining circuits. Its hardness and low fines generation make it the preferred choice for regeneration-intensive applications, where carbon losses compound over time.
