Silica sand is used to filter and clean Portable water filters and pool filter and sewage treatment plants. It is a highly effective filter media as it holds back precipitates containing impurities. Filter sand size, angularity and hardness are the important silica sand characteristics to ensure proper filtering.

QUARTZ SAND

Quartz is a natural mineral mainly composed of silica which is then washed, sieved, dried and bagged. It is neutral, slightly angular and has a beige / light grey colour.

Good quality filter media is essential for monitoring and extraction wells in order to retain most of the formation material and to maximise hydraulic response.

COARSE SAND

We specialize in trading high quality Coarse Sand. Due to erosion effect these rock fragments gets naturally tumbled with flowing river water from mountains towards planes, making its surface smooth. Specifying Procedure

When specifying filter media size, it is best to state the Effective Size and Uniformity Coefficient or the Nominal Size required. Only one system should be used. If in doubt, please contact our technical service team who will be pleased to assist in explaining the best method for specifying.

Effective Size (e.s.) -The sieve size opening that will allow 10 percent, by weight, of a representative sample for the filter material to pass.

Uniformity Coefficient (U.C.) -The ratio of the sieve size opening from which 60 percent of the sand, by weight, will pass divided by the sieve size opening from which 10 percent of the sand, by weight, will pass.
